The Nokia N97 was launched in Malaysia on 5th June '09 at Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Mr. Vlasta Berka, General Manager, Nokia Singapore, Malaysia & Brunei presented the Nokia N97's multimedia functionalities & social networking features to journalists, bloggers & invited guests. In tune with one of the themes; Online: Designed by you; guests were encouraged to 'design' and express themselves with wigs, fantasy hats, face painting and body tattoos. Some of the 'characters' or faces that guests could have requested for were: certain Warcraft characters, Darth Maul, Amidala, Wolverine, Storm, The Hulk, The Phantom, Mephistopheles, Captain Jack Sparrow, etc.
There were a lot of photo taking opportunities as cosplayers worked the crowd. Hellboy, Street Fighter character Chun Li, a mischievous Captain Jack Sparrow (he was in character), Anakin Skywalker roamed the ballroom. Event organizer Trinity Concept explained that these were also online characters and the cosplayers had been engaged to create the 'online' atmosphere. Guests were treated to a lavish and delicious buffet.
